LIVE. LONG. DC. LIVE.LONG.DC is a one-stop hub for Washington, DC’s combined efforts for ending the city’s opioid epidemic. How are we combating opioids in Washington, DC? Read the strategic plan to reduce opioid use, misuse and related deaths. Substance Use Disorder Assessment and Referral Sites The Assessment and Referral sites provide same day assessment and referral for individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders. To refer to the appropriate program, qualified clinicians conduct an assessment that includes the nature of the addiction, use history, any mental health care needs, and overall health status. ChAMPS The Children and Adolescent Mobile Psychiatric Service provides on-site immediate help to children and youth (ages 6-21) facing a behavioral or mental health crisis whether in the home, school or community. The on-call, mobile emergency service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling (202) 481-1450. Saint Elizabeths Hospital St. Elizabeths Hospital is the District’s public psychiatric facility for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who need intensive inpatient care to support their recovery. Children, Youth and Family Services DBH offers prevention, early identification and community based treatment services and supports. Adult Services and Support Providers offer a range of behavioral health services that will fit your needs. More Services Providers DBH contracts with community based providers to provide mental health services and supports.
